Acqua Via’s wines are the wines of the western Mediterranean basin: the watersheds that drain into the Mediterranean Sea, from the Strait of Gibraltar in the west, to Italy in the east. In general, wines of this region have less sugar, less oak influence, slightly less alcohol, slightly higher acidity, and a stronger “sense of place” than wines made in the Pacific Northwest. These wines have evolved over centuries to complement the foods of the Mediterranean -- the foods we serve at Acqua Via.
